Jelissa "Jojo" Rempojo (she/her/hers)

I was born and raised in a Filipino household in Los Angeles, California. I lived in Villamor, Philippines for several years before returning to Southern California and eventually relocating to Eureka, land of the Wiyot Tribe, where I currently reside.

My work and values are motivated by Social Justice. I acknowledge that being a woman of color in the field of psychology allows for unique and necessary opportunities for healing and repair. In the therapy room, I provide culturally safe, sensitive and gender-affirming care. My authenticity and ability to be present are big parts of why I am able to create strong and trusting relationships with my clients.

My work experience includes working with clients from diverse populations; adults, adolescents, children, couples, college students, neurodivergent and TBI individuals, women’s groups, and families. Most of my clinical experience surrounds helping clients who identify as WOC and LGBTQIA+ and working with issues such as trauma, racial and gender identity, oppression, women’s issues, and interpersonal relationships.

I also enjoy supporting fellow Filipina/x/o individuals with issues that are interpersonal, societal, intergenerational, familial, and cultural.

We’ll vibe together, laugh together, and heal together.

My style is conversational and collaborative. I follow your lead. I ask questions intended to help you understand yourself better. You bring in the material and I collaborate with you to figure out the pieces. If you are someone that tends to prioritize others’ needs, I help you learn how to shift some of that focus onto yourself. Together, we build up your awareness, comfort and confidence.

In my work with couples, I help partners learn tools to communicate and be less reactive. I assist them in understanding their partner’s triggers as well as their own. In our sessions, you will get to know each other on a deeper level. I will collaborate with both of you to preserve and expand the peace, rebuild trust, and redefine love in ways that leave you feeling more connected.
