Jelissa "Jojo" Rempojo (she/her/hers)
Jojo was born and raised in a Filipino household in Los Angeles, California. She lived in Villamor, Philippines for several years before returning to Southern California and eventually relocating to Eureka, land of the Wiyot Tribe, where she currently resides.
Jojo’s work and values are motivated by Social Justice. She acknowledges that being a woman of color in the field of psychology allows for unique and necessary opportunities for healing and repair. In the therapy room, she provides culturally safe, sensitive and gender-affirming care. Her authenticity and ability to be present are big parts of why she is able to create strong and trusting relationships with her clients.
Her work experience includes working with clients from diverse populations; adults, adolescents, children, couples, college students, neurodivergent and TBI individuals, women’s groups, and families. Most of her clinical experience surrounds helping clients who identify as WOC and LGBTQIA+ and working with issues such as trauma, racial and gender identity, oppression, women’s issues, and interpersonal relationships.
She also enjoys supporting fellow Filipina/x/o individuals with issues that are interpersonal, societal, intergenerational, familial, and cultural.
“We’ll vibe together, laugh together, and heal together.” -Jojo Rempojo
